Introduction

Vokab ("we", "our", or "the app") is a vocabulary learning application available on iOS, macOS, visionOS, and watchOS. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app collects, how it is stored, and how it is used.

Data We Collect

Vokab collects and stores the following data locally on your device:

• User progress, including streak count, words learned, and mastery levels
• Subscription status
• Theme preference (light or dark mode)

This data is stored locally using UserDefaults and is used solely to provide and improve your learning experience within the app.

iCloud & CloudKit Sync

Your learning progress is synced across your devices using Apple's CloudKit service. Data is stored in your private CloudKit database, which is accessible only to you through your Apple ID. We do not have access to your CloudKit data.

App Groups & Widgets

Vokab uses App Groups to share data between the main app and its widgets (e.g., streak, words learned). This shared data is stored locally via UserDefaults within the App Group container and does not leave your device.

No Third-Party Analytics

Vokab does not integrate any third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. The only analytics available are those provided by Apple's built-in App Analytics, which Apple manages according to their own privacy policy.

No Third-Party APIs In-App

All content within Vokab, including definitions and audio pronunciations, is bundled directly within the app. The app does not make network requests to third-party APIs during use. Third-party services are only used during content generation and are not accessed by the app itself.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are handled entirely through Apple's StoreKit framework and the App Store. We do not collect, process, or store any payment information directly. All billing and payment processing is managed by Apple.

No Account Creation Required

Vokab does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or share any personal information to use the app. Your Apple ID is used solely for iCloud sync and App Store subscriptions, both of which are managed by Apple.

Children's Privacy

Vokab is rated 17+ on the App Store due to the inclusion of a sexology vocabulary category. The app is not directed at children under 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
